For all non-legal testing, a testing kit can be sent directly to your home address. You can simply collect the sample yourself at home, and post it back to DNAQ in the supplied prepaid return envelope. Legal Collection appointments are also still available at our laboratory in Brisbane upon request. However, if you are experiencing any virus-like symptoms or have travelled overseas in the past 14 days, we recommend delaying your collection or rescheduling your appointment to a later date.

Because all testing is completed at our laboratory, we have one of the fastest processing times of any DNA testing company in Australia. For the majority of cases, results are available within 3 – 5 working days, from receipt of samples at our Brisbane laboratory. We also offer express processing for an additional fee, and can have your results ready within 1 – 2 working days.
Once we receive your application and payment, your DNA testing kit will be dispatched the same working day. For clients located in Australia, you can expect to receive your kits within 2 – 4 working days. For international clients, we use an express courier service, with kits typically arriving within 4 working days. All of our kits are packaged discretely in plain packaging, ensuring your complete privacy.
Our experienced team is led by a General Pathologist, with over 20 years of experience in the field of genetics. Our pathologist and Senior Scientists are also registered NATA accredited Family Court Reporters. Our management team has years of experience in DNA testing and work directly in this field. We pride ourselves on having staff who are trained to the highest possible standard. DNAQ has also been awarded tender from Legal Aid Queensland for the provision of Legal Paternity Testing services for 2021-2024.
Our laboratory holds ISO 17025 accreditation from the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) – Accreditation Number: 19325. DNAQ is the longest established NATA/ISO accredited laboratory for DNA Parentage and Relationship (Kinship) testing based in Brisbane, operating since 2007.
ISO 17025 is the global standard for the technical competence of calibration and testing labs, and is the requirement that laboratories must meet to ensure they are following procedures to ensure accurate and valid results. A laboratory must be NATA accredited to be able to produce results required for legal purposes, such as for Family Law Court matters, changes to birth certificates or Immigration and Citizenship purposes.
DNAQ is also one of the only Parentage testing laboratories in Australia to hold ISO 15189 accreditation from NATA. ISO 15189 is the global standard of requirements for quality and competence in medical laboratories.
We also hold a range of other internationally recognised scientific accreditations. DNAQ participates in proficiency DNA testing through the College of American Pathologists, which ensure we comply with testing standards standard with the top DNA testing laboratories worldwide.
DNAQ is also accredited by the Ministry of Justice as a body that may carry out parentage tests directed by the civil courts in England and Wales, under section 20 of the Family Law Reform Act 1969. We also comply with the Department of Health’s Code of Practice and Guidance on Genetic Paternity DNA Testing Services.
